Dr Elizabeth Aderanti, Clinical Psychologist
About me
Over the past 10 years, I have worked with adults across the NHS, voluntary sector and private practice, supporting people through a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties. My approach is rooted in compassion and collaboration. It is grounded in the philosophy of Ubuntu—the belief that our humanity is shaped through our relationships with others; healing happens through connection, authenticity and our shared humanity.
My practice is grounded in an anti-oppressive and culturally responsive framework. I understand that emotional wellbeing is shaped by more than personal experience; it is shaped by the wider social, cultural and systemic contexts we live in. Experiences such as racial injustice, discrimination, cultural expectations and socioeconomic disadvantage can all shape how we see ourselves and move through the world. These experiences deserve to be acknowledged in therapy, not overlooked. I bring a personal understanding of this to my work. I strive to create a space where the richness and complexity of your identity is welcomed and respected, where you can bring your whole self into the room, without fear of judgement or dismissal.
My approach is integrative and tailored to you. I draw on a wide range of therapies including Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and systemic approaches.I have extensive experience supporting adults experiencing anxiety, depression, psychosis-related disorders and individuals experiencing relationship difficulties and significant life transitions.
I believe that therapy is not simply about reducing distress. But also about helping people reconnect with themselves, their values and their relationships, so they can move forward with greater clarity, self-compassion and authenticity.
